Damn MHG, I missed that. You are right, there are staple holes. My guess is removed from the divorce papers.

I was in college in '63. I can remember sitting waiting to go into the Dean of Men's office watching his secretary take to pages and put a carbon between them then staple the three layers together before typing onto the top page.

That staple mark at the top of the exhibit was probably made by a hand held stapler not punched on a desktop because there is no line of indention from extra force. Then when separated from whatever it was attached to, a staple puller was used to remove the staple because all it left was holes in the paper.
