It’s not an “O” it’s a zero.
Computer fonts have a wide upper-case letter O, not typewriters. Look at this link which allows samples of fonts by what you enter - in this case the Schmutz (which mimics typewriter font)

Type a capital O and a numberal 0.
They’re virtually IDENTICAL in appearance. As they would be on a manual typewriter at that time.
If anything the number 0 is somewhat more open than an upper-case O. Exactly like the document.
It’s not fake IMO.
