It seems to me that the appearance of Ann and the baby in Seattle in August, 1961, is a crucial piece of this puzzle.
There is just no reasonable explanation for why she was in Washington state with a newborn, other than that he was born outside Hawaii. In 1961, a teenager didn’t simply didn’t jump on a plane with a brand-new baby in cloth diapers and jet off for a social visit.
Until this morning, I leaned toward a Seattle/British Columbia birthplace. If this paper is authentic, looks like she may have flown in from Africa. She apparently stayed in Seattle, for she was enrolled in school there that fall.
