I THINK YOU’RE RIGHT...He may have carried a photograph of a little boy - but it wasn’t zero. Remember Zeituni was so upset when she was interviewed, she said of course he was born in Hawaii, she remembers the kenyan wrote home about it...and that would have been just like the other letter the clan received, the one in which he told them he had married a woman named Anna Toot and was working for an oil company.
(I think he was working at the Dole Cannery actually, it’s on his immigration file.)

Seems to me the Onyango Clan knew all about the little boy that Anna and the kenyan had. And that’s the photograph he carried around with him, and that’s the boy he would have visited several times, while he was at Harvard.
Maybe that’s the boy Mary baby-sat for Anna Obama, the child they were thinking of adopting out, but he found someone to look after him after the mother left; the woman from whom he says he was separated.
