The believers in Christ, chosen before the foundation of the world

Evidently he's a Supralapsarian Calvinist of the old school (as opposed to slightly more moderate Infralapsarian Calvinists). That can be found in several different sects, such as the Scottish Presbyterians of the 16th century or in Dutch Calvinism of the 17th century, but is getting pretty rare.

Much of this was discussed in interesting detail at the Synod of Dort.

Thanks. I missed that. I'd buy the popcorn for the gallery enjoying Gladiator666, a catfight between the Supralapsarians and the Infralapsarians pulling each other's hair out over their compelling differences on the fine points of the predestination myth. Also, the 16th Century Scottish Presbyterians and the 17th Century Dutch Calvinists are getting a bit long in the tooth by now unless they have discovered the Fountain of Youth.

Whose synod was the Synod of Dort? When? Where? Why?
