By that line of logic, absolutely no cases regarding an election can be brought before a judge. LOL.

How many have?

If you know anything about Alito, he would have been polite, humble and not left the SCOTUS building.

Alito has been quoted as saying that whenever he walks by the Capitol he walks on the side of the street furthest from the Senate office buildings. There is no love lost between him and the Senate, especially towards two who voted against him.

Oh, gosh, Gore v. Bush, comes to mind in about 0.3 seconds... Minnesota (still ongoing) this cycle comes to mind too. They are many others, but I’m sure you know this, don’t you?

Conjecture such as that still doesn’t answer the question... As far as I can tell from the last 4 such meetings in the last 30 years, this is the first time a Justice has been absent to meet the POTUS-elect at the SCOTUS ...
