“Scientism” (not “sciencism”) is a completely distinct concept from “science.” Scientism is the philosophical or ideological belief that only those things which can be measured by science actually exist.

Oh, but I'm trying to help them find a more accurate name for their religion. That way they can more easily qualify for funding to keep truant atheist teens in schools and the head honcho atheist or Grand Wizard of Scientrilogy can recite the anti-invocation at the opening of city commission meetings or counsel people on how to stay married through non-science, or nonsense for short. I'm just trying to help these great minds find expression for their illogic. It's important that we help them choose a name with pizazz and I hope that others will join in this important ecumenical exercise. :)

Seriously, it could be better that we don’t give them a name even remotely related to science. It could bolster their image of legitimacy, when they have none. I’d call them the Fake Scientists, but that sounds more like a British rock group than anything else.
