Try E-bay. I just searched for Dr. Harold Stratton, the painter of my “Memphis Raid” print. Several of his works were listed on E-bay. (Found out that he’s died, too.)

I’ll have to do that. When I was at Gettysburg, I walked through the art stores and saw so many fabulous paintings. The one I want is Kuntsler’s “Let Us Cross Over the River.” I have the calendar print. One day, I want to own the original.

Kunstler isn’t one of my favorite painters. I love his sense of composition, but his execution is too “photograph-y” for my taste. Stratton was more atmospheric, probably because he had terrible Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I saw “The Memphis Raid” in a tiny black-and-white magazine ad, and said, “Wow!” I called him up immediately to see if the picture was really in color :-), but I’d probably have ordered it even as a b&w print.

Until I can afford to do that, I have to be satisfied with Kuntsler’s calendar prints... Beside his Let Us Cross Over the River print, his paintings do not compare to the ones I saw in the Gettysburg shops. But at 300 to 500 dollars a pop, I will have to wait until I finish school before I can buy them. (Walking through the stores, I wanted to buy at least three to four - Jackson, Stuart, Lee)

Yeah, Kunstler's pictures are costive. Excellent likenesses of everyone, though.
Here's Stratton's "Memphis Raid." It's much nicer in real life; the colors are rather off in this image:

Here's the site where I found the graphic; the guy has a great selection of Forrest art:

If I knew how to post pictures, I would show you Let Us Cross Over the River.
That picture is very nice. I could fill up my house with Civil War art (Jackson, Lee, and Stuart especially)

That’s it... I love that picture. It hangs in the place of honor in my house. Soon, I want to buy the original. Thanks... I made it my background.

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well carton253.
I’ve given your viewpoint quite a bit of thought since my last post on the subject of JEB and his efforts during the Gettysburg campaign.
I’ll save my comments on that topic for another day.

I have this one hanging on my staircase.

It's called "Sound The Charge" by Dale Gallon. It depicts the scene of Forrest finding his brother, Col. Jeffrey Forrest, dead.

fyi, i've told "x" to his/her "face" exactly what i think of his/her DUMB-bunny posts & evident lack of brains/class.
UNlike most here, i don't "talk behind your back". i'll say what i believe to you (and i have) as that is HONEST, if not tactful, thing to do.
