A quick word of opinion about deaths.
Remus and Tonks. They had to die there. For Harry seeing them dead and knowing that he in someway had contributed to another boy growing up with no parents was a key impetus for him to go to his death. Yeah, maybe he had enough reasons already but to me that one was most powerful. The deepest symbol and reason behind why he HAD to go end it.
Hedwig. The same, had to die. They needed to be out of touch and it made sense for the owl to be gone. By the way, I must have missed it but does anyone know what happened to Crookshanks?
On a slightly lighter note I think Neville showed the most bravery of anyone. Sure Harry went to die but he knew WHY and it was a darn good reason. Neville faced the dark lord and his army just to get one clear shot at the snake. Because his friend had said it was important. That was enough reason to stand before the horde and dive into certain death. After that I thought Harry’s duel was almost anticlimactic.

By the way, I must have missed it but does anyone know what happened to Crookshanks? I'm not certain. He's definitely at the Burrow on p93, just before the wedding. I don't recall any mention of him after the wedding. He probably got evacuated to Aunt Muriel's, but even if he didn't I presume he fared ok as he'd be beneath the attention of any Death Eaters and there were plenty of chickens available which would have been left before Ginny would have left him. However I suspect Hermione will receive a greeting on her return which will make the one she gave Ron seem warm by comparison.

By the way, I must have missed it but does anyone know what happened to Crookshanks? You know, when the letter talked about baby Harry and the cat, I had the fleeting thought, just for a minute, that Crookshanks was the same cat. It would explain how Crookshanks knew not to trust Scabbers and to trust SIrius...
