“Katy Bacevich, 22, one of the soldier’s three sisters, recalled her brother as a born leader who answered a calling to serve his country. Andrew Bacevich joined the Army in July 2004 and had been stationed in Iraq since October with the Third Brigade Combat Team, First Cavalry Division.”

Should all war critics lose a child? Would that please you? Yes. Absolutely.
Breathtaking. Simply breathtaking.

“Unfortunately, the son paid for the sins of his father.”
You’re delusional.

“My response to that is to ask why he believes it is a bizarre delusion? Germany and Japan were rebuilt successfully after WWII and the USA has reaped tremendous benefits.”
If you truly don’t understand there’s a huge difference, then it’s obvious you know little about the Mideast. Not only is much of it more backwards than Germany and Japan were, but the way they think about most everything is just alien to us. Even the countries there that are considered “democracies” or more modern, are completely different from our view of things.

I wish I could say the same for yours.

When someone asks me if Id like to see innocent people killed, how do I dignify such an asinine question? "No" works pretty well for me, but apparently you'd prefer that people who voice their disagreement with the government's current policy lose a son or daughter.
If someone called the president a "poopyhead" would you settle for just crippling that person's child?

Are you planning to work for the defense or the prosecution? Jumping to conclusions like that won’t win any trophies.

Youre delusional.
You know whats really delusional? Supporting America's enemies.
Nobody here is saying that Bacevich Jr. should have died. What they ARE saying is that Bacevich Sr's anti-American propaganda directly contributed to his son's death at the hands of islamofacists.
Bacevich Sr is a modern-day Tokyo Rose, giving moral support and comfort to the enemy. The reason why they continue to attack us is because people like Bacevich Sr. continue to tell the Muslim world that there is disagreement about the War here at home, thus making them attack all the harder in the hopes of sowing more dissent.
Judging by some of the defeatist comments here at FR, I'd say the islamofacist plan is working nicely.

Benedict Arnold served valiantly at Ticonderoga and Saratoga. So anyone who questions the Bush administration's decision to go to Iraq is a traitor?

I think Bacevich is carrying water for traitors by making the "Bush lied" style of rhetoric more palatable to non-moonbats.Maybe you should read more closely - Bacevich has written that he does not believe that anyone lied.

Yes. Absolutely"
WTF? You cannot not possibly be that morally corrupt and empty!
To: GOP_Party_Animal
Oops. Sorry. As I read down the thread more, I understand what you were saying. Please excuse my over reaction.
To: JeffAtlanta
Maybe you should read more closely - Bacevich has written that he does not believe that anyone lied. Bacevich is parsing. He is saying that Bush convinced himself that what he was saying was true - even though it wasn't in Bacevich's opinion - and that therefore Bush was not technically lying because he told falsehoods that he believed were true.
It's the most convoluted form of "Bush lied" out there, but it is what it is.
