When you consider the budget of NYC, and the responsibilities of the office of Mayor, such as running the Police Dept, Fire Dept, Schools, Hospitals, Sanitation, Higher Education (Colleges, Junior Colleges, Universities, Medical schools), it is more like running an entire country.
