"If that was the criterion of a good candidate, we would have supported Kerry, or even Weasley Clark over Bush in 2004."

So, You're saying President Bush didn't serve in the military?
HUH? And all this time I thought he served honorable as a pilot.

Liberals don't consider NG or reserves to be 'service'.

No. But Bush didn't fight in Vietnam, while John Kerry did. Haven't you heard? And John McCain was a POW, and that makes him more knowledgeable than almost anybody. But not Wesley Clark -- he was wounded in 'nam, and later became supreme commander of NATO-- his military experience dwarfs everyone elses.

See how stupid this line of reasoning is? Ideas matter. Unlike surrender monkies in our own party like Brownback and Hunter, Giuliani recognizes we need to stay on offense against the Revolutionary Islamists. Iran, for example, may get the nukes for their apocalypse in the next few years if we pick the wrong person. If we nominate a complete putz like Hagel or Hunter, we'll be stuck with the Dems, which entails added bonuses -- the GITMO terrorists back in circulation, French veto over American policy, stabbing Israel in the back and so forth.
