Rudy Giuliani Throws Hat Into 2008 Presidential Ring
Post Chronicle ^ | 2/1/07

Posted on 02/01/2007 5:41:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring.  The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots.

"Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously.

Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report.

Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup.

The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance.  As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett.

You can do a better job of splitting the party?

It seems apparent that some around here are determined to split the GOP no matter what.

He'll get it. He's raising tons of money in Texas this week.

I agree that he needs to get his name out there (Hunter) & it will be doubly hard because the media is going to shut him out. It's going to be up to conservatives to shout his name out & Duncan's going to need to step up the charisma factor a bit.

As far as qualifications, I think Hunter's got it all.

and before that the bomb throwers on FR who swarm to the Rudy threads like flies on sh*t. Enlightened discussion here? Forget about it.

And how many times have we seen this? Every election since I've been here.

I've never seen them quite as frantic as they are this year though.

I will vote for a conservative, but I will not vote for a liberal. If the republicans run a liberal like Rino Rudy I will go third party.

& Duncan's going to need to step up the charisma factor a bit.

If he hasn't done that in 27 years in the House, how do you expect him to do that in 12 months?

I think he has it all too, but he needs a groomer and he needs to understand he can't do it on the cheap.

I am hoping that Duncan Hunter can gain the necessary traction...

But, if he cannot... I will vote for Rudy.

Why? Is it because I agree with him on everything. No.

It comes down to this, and alot of Freepers dismiss this.

1) I like him. Personally. I like Rudy.

2) I believe he will prosecute the war on terror.

3) I believe he has enough appeal to bring Independents on board.

4) Much is said about his baggage. Who doesn't know it? He hasn't heard about his messy divorces, etc. Does it bother me. Yes... it is discomfiting.

To me, too many freepers are looking for the perfect candidate. Every thread posted about a candidate is littered with reasons why he will never be elected. No one is perfect and if perfection is our goal, we should just go home. Sometimes I feel as if I am in a fairy tale. This one is too liberal. This one is too unknown. This one is a Rino. This one will bring about the destruction of the country. WE CAN ONLY VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATE WHO IS RUNNING! So, until the Stepford Candidate comes forward, it would behoove us to stop tearing each candidate to pieces and when we are through with the candidate each other.

BTW (not directed at you)... If the behavior of a poster can turn you off to a candidate, shame on you for being so easily influenced. Stand up for your beliefs and your candidate. If you can do that without resorting to name calling - then welcome to adulthood. (feels good to get that off my chest)

The party will nominate who it nominates.

I have a feeling no matter who is nominated, you'll never be satisfied.

Good! Now that we have finally sucked him into the campaign, all is fair. The second cousin ex-wife should make good stories for the press.

I will go third party.

So I see you may be moving from the anger stage to the bargaining stage on the grief scale.

I think he meant 'if he wins the primary, the evangelicals and social conservatives will stay home on election day'.

OF all those mentioned I would vote for all save three. Rudy McRomney. Any of those three win the nomination I bolt. I am now working for Duncan Hunter.

Peach, Hunter does not believe he can do it on the cheap. He was making a comment that he doesn't need to raise the millions that a Romney needs to raise to be used to convince the electorate that he is a conservative. Since Hunter is already a conservative with a proven record, he is saving himself that expense.

How is the new computer?
