Rudy Giuliani Throws Hat Into 2008 Presidential Ring
Post Chronicle ^ | 2/1/07

Posted on 02/01/2007 5:41:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring.  The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots.

"Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously.

Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report.

Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup.

The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance.  As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett.

>>>>Speak for yourself. JimRob ended up endorsing Ah-Nold over McClintock, and that decision certainly wasn't because JimRob thought that Ah-Nold was the more conservative candidate.

I am speaking for myself. Thats my opinion. You don't like it, too bad! JimRob has already denounced Rudy Giulinai`s candidacy as him being far too liberal to gain the GOP nomination. What "real" conservative wants wants a big govt, pro-abort, anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-illegal at the top of the GOP ticket? Lets stop talking about selling out just to win. Besides, the right cosnervative can win. Everytime Republicans choose the lesser of two evils, we always lose.

During the Cal recall campaign, Jim was backing Tom McClintock, not Arnold. 1-2 days before the election he announced he would be voting for Arnold. Here we are with 22 months to go and Jim is speaking out loudly. That counts for something, but its still only one vote. Conservatives will not vote for Rudy in the primaries. Wanna bet?

Yes, I would. I even posted that a few weeks ago. Fred Thompson is very presidential and is well spoken. He would take advantage of his TV and movie career for identification purposes. I would show him at the Clinton impeachment, where he made a name for himself.

I am certainly not one issue, and abortion is down on the list. I don't like liberals, like Rudy, and I don't like liars.

I don't appreciate your lies and patent mischaracterizations.

What was their excuse in 2006? The GOP lost seats in 2006 because the Independents and Moderates were sick of the GOP and voted Democrat. Rudy can bring those voters back to the Republican side.

I thought that it was because the evil, selfish conservatives stayed home. You guys need to get your stories straight.

"Then please explain how Reagan won Massachusetts in 1984."

Perhaps the political topics of the day favored Reagan more?

Carter created more Republican voters than anyone in history!

We also have the Internet now and that has only been a major factor since the 2000 elections. Things have changed a bunch in the past 20 years.

Anyone who supports Rudy must love abortion because Rudy is the most pro-abortion major Republican presidential candidate EVER. Name one other presidential candidate who has received awards from pro-abortion groups, calling him a champion of the abortion cause.

How conveniently we forget that Reagan signed the biggest pro-abortion law in the state of California when he was governor. But he ran for president despite that and won. And don't tell me he regretted it afterwards because he still took that pen and signed it and did it anyway and no one seems to complain when he ran for president did they? By the way I voted for Reagan not because of that but because of his overall stance on all issues. Never regretted my vote. What abortion law did Rudy sign? NONE!! He had nothing to do with abortion. But still you are using that as your excuse. Try another one because that don't cut it!

"We just have to wait and see."

"Then, we have to vote in the general election for the nominee. That's something you didn't commit to in '06 therefore; you ain't gonna commit now."

What are you talking about? I voted a straight Republican ticket in 2006. I will not commit now on who I will vote for, that is up to the candidates to earn. Let's see how they go about "earning" GOP votes. It is not automatic.

You are correct about one thing: We just have to wait and see.

I said: "Actually, I would consider Fred Thompson. I don't know much about him, but what I've seen is fine so far. Do you have any idea how his views align with the Republican Party Platform and conservative ideals?" And you replied: Snot.

I snorted because you said you'd consider him and asked me what he was for.

Obviously you don't know his positions on anything.

Howlin, FR and Spiff are one issue voters (abortion) and they, like the Blues Brothers, are on a mission from God. They have a blindness to any other issues, particular the war.

I am very conservative on nearly every issue. I've been called a "one issue" voter on most of those issues too. Which hardly qualifies me as a real "one issue" voter. And I support the war as does almost EVERY other Republican candidate right now.

You don't seem to get it Spliff (since you must be smokin' something), we are all conservatives here!! Some are more concerned about the welfare of the overall country than you however. Your only concern is getting your way 100% of the time! That's unfortunate!

I thought that it was because the evil, selfish conservatives stayed home.

I never said that. I have consistently said that the Independents and Moderates voted with the Democrats in 2006. And you can check that out if you like.
