If it is the wish for the Republican Party to drive the Religious Right away, they will have a 100% Republican Party that will exclude them, that's all. Try to win an election that way.
Have you seen the breakdown of the Senate re: Ds and Rs?
If you have and can still ask that question, you're a completely vacuous poster.
What was Rudy's platform in 1951--I'm just dying to Know!
*Smooch*
Let's start looking at the positives in each Republican candidate. (There are NONE to find in Hillary, Obama, Biden, Edwards, Dodd, Kuchinich, Sharpton, etc.)
And in a nice shade of Mauve, come on H, you can do better, but you know I like the humor defense!
Sounds like you might be a hillary supporter.
Good morning to you, too, miss sunshine!
My, aren't we just so pleasant today! I really appreciate your input today.
He's an American.
Ther are conservative running and I am supporting one and prepared to suport others if he does not win. I will not support in anyway Rudy McRomney.
Well, why not; you want me to be lockstep.
It's your turn. :-)
Yes, I am a conservative. That is why I have consistently said that I will work for Duncan Hunter.
But...if Hunter cannot overcome, then I will vote for the republican nominee if it is Rudy, Romney, Newt, or McCain.
Why? Because I cannot turn this country over to the likes of the dems that are running. Too much is at stake.
How would that be accomplished?
True, but no other candidate has so many wedge issues as Rudy: Abortion, Partial Birth Abortion, Gun Control, Homosexual Agenda, Stem Cell Research, Amnesty for Illegal Border Invaders... That is a lot to overcome, and I didn't even include personal baggage.
I cannot see it happening. He could very well win the nomination, but with those heavy issues hanging over his head, how could he possibly think he will pull enough GOP support?
Just look at how close 2000 and 2004 were, and those INCLUDED the Religious Right voters.
Freepmail me to be added or removed.
Well we all knew this was coming. Robert Novak pretty much confirmed it a long time ago. Time for all conservatives to unite behind somebody in the republican primary, be it Tancredo, Hunter or Gingrich or hell even maybe Romney to stop the crazy one (McCain) and the leftist crossdresser (Giuliani) from ever darkening the door of the great White House.
I REFUSE to vote for Giuliani. I live in the safe republican state of Georgia, perhaps the current most conservative state (the only state in 2006 where republicans gained, first republican Lt. Governor and first republican secretary of state election, Perdue, who became the first republican governor since the war between the states in 2002 won reelection by like 20 percentage points and the republicans held the same in the state senate while gaining six seats in the state house) and I have no problem voting for Jim Gilchrist, the likely constitution party nominee, if the republicans nominate some leftist like Giuliani or Hagel. If I lived in Ohio or Pennsylvania, I almost certainly wouldn't do that, but Georgia is a lock of whoever the republicans nominate.
Don't let early polls fool you, Romney, Hunter and especially Gingrich if he gets in it can easily overthrow the crossdresser.
On average 1000000 abortions occure every years since Row v Wade. Do the math. 1000000/12 = 83333.
Translation: FReepers who support conservative candidates are losers. Conservative candidates are crappy. Therefore, conservative are crappy losers.
Why don't you stick your conservative bashing crap where the sun don't shine!
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Well, if you locksteppers get yours, we'll have Democrats ruling the country for two more decades.
And just because somebody doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are liberal. That's a stupid liberal tactic you're using there.
The thing is, I really can't recall ANY GOP nominee when the social conservatives weren't predicted to "stay home" and not vote. Obviously, most of them have an 11th hour change of heart.
I have some reservations about Rudi, but he's sharp, tough and a heck of a speaker. If he can beat hillary, et al, well, 'nough said.
