Rudy Giuliani Throws Hat Into 2008 Presidential Ring
Post Chronicle ^ | 2/1/07

Posted on 02/01/2007 5:41:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring.  The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots.

"Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously.

Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report.

Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup.

The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance.  As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett.

I think that Rudy draws in enough moderate independents to offset social conservative defections.

Bingo! And I think that is what all the moaning and groaning from the purists on this site is about.

If the party could win with Rudy without them, why would the party even listen to them anymore?

I'm through talking about this issue. If you want to be stupid and stay at home if Rudy is nominated, go right ahead. Be the dumbarses of the world and let Hillary in. Don't expect other countries to be grateful to you, don't expect other countries to look to you as the leader of the free world, don't expect anything except to be the pinnacle of dumbassery. The Democrat Congress is making America look pathetic, weak and divided. But no, you don't care about that, you'd rather just spout off about guns and abortion rather than think about whether or not your country is respected. It will NOT be respected if you put a complete bitch like Hillary in charge or a total neophyte like Obama.

I care about America and its place in the world; I don't want it to lose its number one slot. But some of you have your heads shoved so far up your arses that you'd rather focus on a single issue than think about this great consequence.

Ivan

or doesn't he have the right to change his mind on any issue?

Just imagine what this group of "purists" would have done to Ronald Reagan.

And Arafat too, back when it was unfashionable.

My goal has always been and always will be to defeat hillary. If it means supporting Rudy instead of someone more conservative than that's what I will do.

I won't sit at home. Sitting at home and not voting is pointless. I won't vote for a liberal like Rudy who has said:

"Most of Clinton's policies are very similar to most of mine."

They won't "sell out" as you say. They need to be INCLUDED in
the platform and embraced by a successful candidate. Rudy Giuliani has become a wedge candidate, not a uniting one. Yes, we need to include all elements of the party in order to win. 2000 and 2004 proved that. Had any single element sat out those two elections, we would have elected Al Gore and/or John Kerry.

I really think we agree on how to win, we just disagree on who best would unite the party. Whether you agree or not, there are MILLIONS of Republicans who will not accept Rudy.

I find it hard to believe, I personnaly never ask anyone to vote for Rudy even thou I am a Rudy supporter. most other Rudy supporters I know here wouldn't do that either, can you name names?

I do ask if Rudy is the NOMINEE would you vote for him, I guess I am guilty of that. But support who you want in the primaries but then get behind the REP nominee.

This is going to be epic:

Rudy - solid, a leader, great speaker, tough

Mitt - solid, great persona, good looking, solid family

Newt - we'll see !! - the party needs his ideas and intellect.

McQuid - well - my opinion is my - I detest the man,

More will follow..

The field is very very solid - great men stepping up.

Let the debates and performances begin.

Then why are you push a man who shares the same views with that Democratic congress on 90%+ of the issues? Just because this liberal has and R by the name?

My goal has always been and always will be to defeat hillary.

Sometimes, you have to re-evaluate your goals and see if they have any relevance. Personally, I don't really care what a liberal president's name or plumbing happens to be, I'm more concerned with their policies. And as you can see, there's no difference between Rudy and Hillary.

It needs to be said again. Instead of threatening to hold your breath, would you just do it and turn blue already?
This petulant whine about picking up your marbles and going 3rd party has moved beyond old and well into trite.

RATS with fancy Madison Avenue labels are still RATS...

But the REAL RATS are just rubbing their paws to get a chance to force the defeat of this country, right?

Skip the bold, please answer the following question directly: if you have a choice between "the Madison Ave. RAT" and a real RAT, including the beast we all know, which do you really want?

I doubt that you'll try, by making a point, to teach the GOP a lesson. That "minimum 8-year lesson" will be quite long and costly punishment for all of us, including you.
