Personally, I prefer Tancredo although I admire "America's Mayor," and this article sheds some light on Rudy's little known conservative and courageous accomplishments.
believe me, i could get excited about him.
I know he couldn't win. Why does he have to have that danged last name.
Anyone know where Tommy Franks stands on the issues?
Has he indicated an interest in running for office?
Nope.
He still has time.
Giuliani makes a damn good crossdresser:

I would like to know something about Free Republic since I'm still new here and don't post very much. I happen to be a fiscal conservative but I'm pro-choice and pro-civil unions and I'm an atheist, are people with these ideals welcome here or should I be on my way. I ask because I don't come to a forum to be a troll and it seems that only social conservatives are welcome. Thank you
Yeah, yeah. I remember when Hillary claimed to be conservative too. 10% conservative is 90% wrong. If Guili is a conservative, then I'm Steppen Fetchit.
There are those on this forum who believe as you do, but I do wonder why you don't find a libertarian forum as that sounds like where you're coming from.
I still consider myself fairly conservative, just not a religious conservative. I'm an Objectivist at heart and have a hard time with Libertarians as they don't have a cohesive ideology in my opinion. Again, I respect those who are religious conservatives and just want to make sure that I am welcome and don't come across as a troll.
Don't expect the religious conservatives to swallow a Rudy G. just to stop Hillary, or just to put an Republican in the White House. There is not enough difference on the issues that matter to me between Rudy and Hillary. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for him.

That caused a problem? When, where and with who?
Couple weeks ago on LP.
Wow, another great poll. Giuliani is ahead of McCain, Hillary and everyone else. He's is on top. Hunter doesn't even get 1% - I'm sure the Democrats are really afraid of him.
They're VERY afraid of him. As I said at the very outset (and repeated!), I'm supporting Tancredo so I don't have a dog in this fight. But it's clear to me that some FReepers not only havn't read the article and know no facts regarding Giuliani's many tough conservative positions in NYC but are reacting emotionally and irrationally.
NO politician bats 100% conservative - least of all George Bush. But at least try to consider the facts! By the way, I've personally seen some of the results of his NYC reforms.
That's exactly what I do.
Guiliani may not "cave" on the "War on Terror", but he has already surrendered on the cultural issues. Rudy fails on so many issues, to vote for him because he would be tougher in the "War on Terror" gives small comfort.
I think if you examine seriously both the bankgrounds there is a TREMENDOUS difference. Rudy is a tough hands-on native New Yorker who has not only physical courage (remember 'America's Mayor' on 9/11?) but has clearly demonstrated his political courage in transforming NYC., and restoring law and order and fiscal sanity to the city -- despite MSM opposition. Hillary is clearly a "carpet bagger" who has no more genuine ties to NYC than a Hottentot has with Manhattan. Rudy exemplifies the best of America and the capacity to fight back in a really tough way - as in a NYC street fight!
And anyone who's looked at his record as Mayor can't deny all the racial and special interests he's had to subdue. And all this was long before the national attention was aimed at him! He's AUTHENTIC - the real thing. So rare in American politics!
