It's supposed to be some way to not subject us to listening Skankarella sing "Do I Make You Proud." Oh man! Do you know how funny that would be, to have her singing that song, and maybe some shots in the background from her calender!!

True...except that Sanjaya is a boy only in the loosest sense of that word, and all his breathy attempts at sexiness are not aimed at those starry eyed pubescent girls who buy CD's. I'll bet Clay Aiken is just dying to mentor him. ;-)

I understand their methodology, but when you have a 8-way survey and everyone's within the margin of error, you're quickly going to lose credibility.
Remember, they are the ones bragging about their 87 percent accuracy rate for season five. They need to back that up with real predictions.
Funny thing is, their admin said that he tweaked the MOE calculations to narrow down his predictions. He may need to tweak them again.
Either that, or they all equally sucked last night...

Not to mention that they have at least 4 charts, but I think its 5. Why the large variances?

Do you suppose there's any connection between the big news and Carrie's appearance, or is that just coincidental?

Maybe they will break the show in two and have a Pop Idol and Country Idol...

Maybe they will break the show in two and have a Pop Idol and Country Idol... That could work. The other networks might have a fit though!

Wolfie, I'm with you on being tired of all the Idol-fan comparisons. When the season is over, it's over. Each contestant, winner or no, still has to forge ahead with their career path. Success (or lack of) comes in various ways and is defined differently for each performer. Most are still way better off then before AI, despite the heavy hand of their benefactor.
To: over3Owithabrain
You're absolutely right that each former contestant, winner or not, still has to forge ahead with their career path. It's a great opportunity to be on AI and get that exposure, but each one has to make of that opportunity what they will. Success can come in many forms, but the exposure alone won't get them there. Talent, perseverance and hard work will.

I can't really comment on last night's debacle of a show because I FELL ASLEEP on the couch right about the time they showed Sangaya doing the hula. I didn't wake up until I heard Chris Sligh shouting out "LUV!!!!!"
Gawd, it was so awful I never fell asleep during an AI contest before. I think the guys have just given up, with the judges and everyone saying a girl will win this year.

AOL has a stupid poll about Idol being the worst vocals so far. (I think season 2 was the worst but season 6 is winning the poll)
The poll is flawed, like most DNC polls, as it takes both the girls and guys together.
I'd say most of the guys aren't as good but the girls (at least 6 of them) are outstanding.
I predict Sanjaya and Jared to get the ax. Sundance and Phil are in jeopardy. If Sanjaya has a good "text message" vote tally, he could manage to make the final 12. But I think that hula dance did him in.
Bob Lonsberry, our "local" version of Rush today said that there's 3 guys who are decent. (Chris S., Blake and Brandon)
I agree with him there.
For the girls: If Barbarella sucks again this week she's out. Sympathy votes can only go so far.
Anyone hear Bill O'Reilly today?? He was talking about Rosie O'Lesbo and her remarks about Idol being "racist" because they kept Barbarella and kicked off "Frenchie."
What a joke! I don't care for Barbarella, but HER photos were from a vindictive ex-boyfriend where Frenchie was actually paid for them and in violation of the agreement.
I won't be on until around 10pm EDT tonight so I'll look forward to everyone's comments on the show.

Aw geez. Idol really should have cut this chick loose. Hopefully, the voters will do it for them soon. If I have to look at her much longer I'm gonna hurl.

Rosie O'Lesbo haha..I heard O'Reilly today talking about that big mouth load spewing her nastiness about American Idol ...
I wish Antolletta would just go away, I was thinking she should just remove herself (imagine her family's embarressment?) but noooooo...she is waiting for America to vote her OUT... hope it's tonight!

I think Chris Sligh has a really good voice, but he is defeating himself. He reminds me of a wounded duck trying to hide from a hunter. He hides a potentially big talent behind all that hair and his weight and his lame jokes. It's sad. I agree. I think all the guys were trying to "play it safe" again last night, just trying to get into the Top 12.
