If GWB Doesn't have Warner on his side then I'm afraid his plan is unlikely to prevail.
This war remains a guerrilla war. By our own guerilla warfighting doctrine four things are necessary to win.
1. The support of the indigenous people in region.
2. The support of the people in the US whose tax dollars support the prosecution of the war.
3. Sufficient forces on the ground to overwhelm guerrilla forces.
4. A local economy that gives indigenous people reason to oppose the insurgency.
Now...If you answer those four questions honestly what conclusions do you come to?
It doesn't matter one whit if any senate critter is on the side of GWB. He's the President, they're not. They can moan and groan and hold useless, symbolic votes. In the meantime, our brave troops will be making sure all those limp spined whiners are safe and free to complain and try their best to demoralize them and the rest of the sheeple.
