It is reported that Senator Lott has a list of 10 names of GOP senators who have elected to stand with the democrats, instead of supporting our own WAR TIME, GOP POTUS.

The list thus far:

Brownback;

Coleman;

Lugar?;

Snow;

Collins;

Hagel;

and likely

Voinovich;

Smith;

Two have not yet been named (outed).

.

A few quotes:

Hunter would have hillary for lunch.

He was the past Chairman of the Armed Services Comm.
vietname war vet. Son served 2 tours in Iraq as a Marine.
Don't hold it against him because he is a Republican.

''Senator'' Lott ''stands'' for what he always has stood for: more pork, especially regarding ports and shipbuilding, for Mississippi. Nothing has changed.

I really wish you would stop attacking people just because they don't want to vote for Duncan Hunter.

No, actually he wouldn't and what you posted doesn't matter at all, when talking about how he would or would not be able to handle Hillary.

He isn't sneaky enough; that's my point. He isn't a street fighter, he has NO charisma, and he has NO financial or political backing at all.

I'm a REPIBLICA; haves been all of my life, so why on earth would I "hold it against him because he is a Republican"? Sometimes you people are really too silly for your own good! LOL

"These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it Now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict the more glorious the triumph."

Thomas Paine, The Crisis -- December 1776

The Democrats and some Republicans are sounding like sunshine patriots. Many of us know that few of them have the makings of a soldier, summer or otherwise.

This group persists in whining and moaning about the war. They do precious little to support our troops except to mouth the appropriate phrases when they are on camera.

As of this evening, I will put at the feet of this group of sunshine patriots the deaths of any of our fine military risking life and limb.

Attacking Hunter is not fair game. It can't be a one way street.
False comments won't stand.

Just like some weeks back when I said Brownback is off the list with his open border and amensty. The same people who didn't like that , tonight are agreeing with his lack of support for the President.

I have spent several decades working or following politcis and world affairs to listen to those with jut emotions and no facts.

I'll look for your reports. I wouldn't be able to endure Biden's rude and arrogant behavior.

Senator Coleman? That surprises and upsets me. Perhaps he has had a change of heart upon hearing the actual speech instead of just the leaks about a "surge". Perhaps he will have a change of heart after receiving MANY phone calls and e-mails. I am just surprised that someone who is so in tune with the debacle that is the UN--especially with regard to scandals linked with Saddam-- would be against opening up a big ol' can of whoop *** in Iraq.

I will be the author of at least one e-mail and will make "more than one" phone call, unless he retracts his position.

Thanks for the info. Disappointing as it is.

“If Iraq is going to fulfill its role as a sovereign and democratic state, it must start acting like one. It is for this reason that I oppose the proposal for a troop surge.” – Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn.

Sounds like he might be persuadable.

In 2003, Bush led conservatives down the garden path into this Wilsonian/nation-building quagmire and they followed him without question. Some starry-eyed types predicated that Iraqis were liberty loving quasi-Jeffersonians, that the Iraq occupation would set off a "democratic" chain reaction, and that the Iraqi war would "pay for itself" via oil.

Fortunately, after three years of failed predications of success, some conservatives, like Brownback, are beginning to realize that this is a utopian enterprise. Unlike some folks here, they have lost their patience with a policy that has created a Shi'ite fundamentalist tyranny of the majority of Iraq.

I spend more time countering the Third party idiots on FR.
I spend time with other FReepers and Protest warriors countering code pinkos and other left wing groups.

I worked as far back as Reagan's headquarters when he first ran for Gov.

I am not one of the keyboard comandos that seem to find there way here.

Hunter may be adequate as a state rep. but in the big leagues, he's nothing more than a bat boy.

Have him garner some actual governing experience first. Senators or Representatives just don't get much mileage with the electorate. But I thought you should know that if you truly have the experience you say you do.

Here is what I sent to Voinovich.

It is all over the web that you are not going to support the president's new approach to winning the war in Iraq.

If that be the case, they you have just lost my support. As a life long Republican I could not with good conscience support you for the office chief butt wipe at a diarrhea convention..let alone any office of importance.

You apparently lived to regret you opposition to John Bolton for the UN. That tells us all how poor your judgment is.

If you oppose the president in this effort and this nation is once again attacked by Middle Eastern terrorists, Rush Limbaugh and every other conservative host and Internet site will tar you with ..."Voinovich chose not to fight them over there with our military. Voinovich chose to fight them over here with our civilian population.

How about this catchy chant...

Hey hey Son Of A Vitch.
Americans died because you called it quits.

Think about it. It is only a matter of time until we are attacked again.

If it were 1864 your first instinct, no doubt, would be to align yourself with General McClellan and be against President Lincoln. After all you would have read the media in 1863 and concluded that Lincoln was a dead duck.

I understand that President Bush has put a man equal to U.S. Grant in charge of the war in Iraq.

Don't be foolish enough to make the same mistake the Democrats did in 1864. Don't oppose the President until his new plan has failed. If it does succeed and you oppose him, you will no doubt cry like a baby on the Senate floor... But that is not unusual thing for you to do .. is it?

Sincerely,

Ray Malone

nopardons wasn't even attacking Hunter. If this were a one-time thing, I might give you the benefit of the doubt but you've been arbitrarily coming on to every thread where Hunter's name is even MENTIONED and deciding that anyone who doesn't support him isn't really a Republican. It's just wrong. Not to mention irritating.

YOU are an utter disgrace and a craven fool!

Come now. Quit being such a shrinking violet. You need to be more assertive. Tell me what you really think.
