First of all, he said "career" not just "working."

Both my parents had careers>

And secondly, it's not all about you.

It may not be "all" about me, but when a incorrect sweeping generalization is made that covers me, you better believe I'm going to respond.

People whose careers are more important than their families generally have children who show that decision.

Nice strawman. It's possible to have a career that is less important than one's family. I would guess that the majority of career people are in this position.

As people who choose single parenthood likewise do so to the detriment to their children.

I said nothing about single parenthood. I didn't even say that having two parents with careers is optimal. I just have a HUGE problem with saying that because I was raised with two parents with careers, I wasn't raised with a TRUE parent. That's insulting, not just to me, but to any parent with a career that still prioritizes their children. And it's just wrong.

You clearly looked for insult, instead of charitably reading his words to indict those two-career homes of the wealthy who place career over child rearing.
