The problem is the one, which is very rarely mentioned in Republican circles:

Democrats have long insisted that corporations control the GOP. Except when you look at how GWB follows relentlessly toward open borders, and "free trade", both of which are devastating our industrial and wage base - those Democrats appear to be right.

Republicans need to be pro-AMERICA. Not pro Mexico, or pro-corporation. We're no longer looking out first for that shining city on the hill.

We're selling it. Bit by bit.

Republicans need to be pro-AMERICA.

What would probably be the most pro-America in the long run would be to abolish the minimum wage laws and abolish the welfare state, cut the unnecessary federal agencies and get rid of regulations covering things that are not explicitly enumerated as the domain of the federal government in the US Constitution. In other words, return to constitutional governance and get rid of extra-constitutional things.

However, I don't see us doing anything but repeating the mistakes of civilizations past that will lead to our eventual destruction as a sovereign nation. In my opinion, the US isn't even a free country anymore. You are basically owned by the government.
