The current tax code is 17,000 pages long and includes more than 1,100 forms and publications. Tax-payers are forced to spend almost $200 billion each year just to comply with it, and even IRS employees do not understand the laws they are supposed to enforce. Several years ago, a General Accounting Office survey found that IRS employees gave incorrect tax advice half the time.


I suspect that other sources are citing the pages in the 1,100 forms and publications. In any case...do you think that this is a good thing? Did you not read the rest of the paragraph? Thanks for making my points.
