Some of the Amish in our area (northeastern Indiana) are very closed off from "english" people. But some are very friendly and open. Many more of the former, though.
Yes, we have alot of Amish who come through our area to sell their goods, just 5 minutes away. They are very good people. Some reason what I said was taken as an insult to all Amish, never is that the case. But, I have read stories of some who have suffered under strict beliefs. I am trying to figure out why someone went crazy.
How terrible, to have this claim to be German, and surrounded by German origin people (what is it, about 65% or so in NE Indiana) and to close yourself off from them because they are Reformed/Lutheran and not Annabaptist/Amish.
