Two things - Susquehannock is a fair distance away from Bart Township - and the pickup for this creep was pretty old and faded navy blue. The images I saw of Carpenter's truck was a fairly late-model truck that was more steel-blue.

Yes it is, but it's still probably only a 35 minute drive. Perps would likely troll for victims farther away from their home as opposed to their own back yard where they might be recognized.
Also the truck sounds like a farm truck. I know someone who was a herdsman down in Fulton township and, like any average "English" farm, there were several beater trucks around the operation for general field use. They drove their truck to work but used the beaters while on the job.

I'm just speculating and trying to make sense of this atrocity.
