Not true. The Amish set themselves apart and have different customs, but they know and deal with their neighbors, sell their produce at local markets, vote, pay taxes, and probably shop at Wal-Mart. They largely keep to themselves, but there are a lot more insular groups in Pennsylvania, let alone the US, let alone the wide world.

They do. I've seen a Wal-Mart that had a special buggy parking section in its lot for the Amish customers.
