"I'd be willing to bet that some of the people posting about Crist being unmarried at 50, childless, and living in a house they don't own might be descriptive of some of the people who were poking at him for it.
"

Now that was a really badly-written sentence. Let me try it again:

I'd be willing to bet that some of the people posting about Crist being unmarried at 50, childless, and living in a house they down own might recognize something similar in their own lives.

There, that makes more sense. Sorry for the poor sentence. I try to write clearly.

Oh, ya. Now I know who he is. And from what I have heard and read about him, I agree with him on many things. He probably does have a great future in Florida politics. He is young and has plenty of time to make himself known.

I know all about switiching to Indy. My husband did it this year, broke my heart, but he could not take the excessive spending done by Reps. I could not factually argue with him about it since the spending has been atrocious!

I understand your point about not voting for CC, sticking by ones principals is something to admired.

Just remember, you can't vote on national holidays.

Heh... I'm still waiting for a response on that issue. I doubt one will be forthcoming, though.

"I'm reaching out to the RNC even thought I have left them cold."

You have left them cold, floriduh voter. That's why they're no longer paying attention to you. When Crist becomes governor, they'll remember what you said about him. Trust me...they'll remember.

You might as well forget about working for any GOP campaigns in the future. They don't need folks who fling feces as a campaign strategy.

Crist is STILL not a murderer.

Just FYI.... I heard those nasty little rumors months ago from my family members in Florida concerning Crist. Are they true? I have no idea. Facts usually have a way of coming out sooner or later.

However, I don't think those who are being bashed for openly discussing rumors about Crist would be bashed if those rumors were about Democrats. If the rumor was about Democrats, many, many Freepers would be participating and seeking to spread the rumor.

We're divided right now and it can't be fixed, sorry.

Well, let's hope that some more supremes retire and the POTUS selects some conservative judges.

More's the pity. If a campaign cannot be run on facts and must rely on feces flinging, then that candidate will not get my vote. I will abstain rather than vote for a candidate who engages in such behavior.

I don't really care if some FReepers spread rumors. They are wrong to do so. That is not a conservative value. Conservatives value truth.

Living in a house you don't own or one that was given to you by your mom could apply to many freepers, I am sure. Inheritance can be a good thing...:)at least I thought it was...:)

I agree with you.

But Gallagher also said in the first debate (something the know-nothings from out of state certainly don't know) is that he firmly believed Crist would be a better choice than either Davis or Smith.

So I'll vote for Crist in November; he'll be beholden to the Republican base of the state, and if/when he gets out of line there will be a constituency to answer to.

Crist will probably come out early for a McLame candidate for President--if not McLame himself, then a McLame wannabe. I will not cheer that moment. But there are other, more mundane things regarding the workings of government, where Crist ought to excel.

He'll have a lot of social issues to deal with, particularly if Castro kicks the bucket while he's governor. We'll see what this fellow is made of, and hopefully it'll be up to the task.

And one more thing: it is legitimate to look at a man's life experience to determine whether he is qualified to hold an office. Meeting the "requirements" of an office doesn't mean a candidate is "qualified". The academically challenged among us will make them the same. The wise man or woman will not.

Thanks for that insight. I among those know-nothings from out of state), but I readily admit it and am always looking for insight from those who actually live in the state and pay attention to what is going on.

It is encouraging to know that the Republican base, which I assume is conservative, will help keep Crist in line.

Is it an open primary? Dems will vote in a "R" primary for the most liberal candidate.

No open primaries here. No one who wasn't registered Republican voted on that ballot last night. I'd say we have no one to blame but ourselves, but I voted for Gallagher.

Well, an innocent young is deceased. Charlie Crist told Clay Roberts to order Mitch Turner to stop the investigation into Terri Schiavo's civil rights. Mitch Turner didn't want to stop his investigation but his job was on the line. I think he got transferred but wasn't fired.

CHARLIE CRIST LET MY DAUGHTER DIE:

Had that guy been governor in 2003, Terri Schiavo would have died back then.
