Abolish the federal income tax!
No more taxes on savings and investments!
A "Fair Tax" can completely fund the federal government, Social Security and Medicare!
You control how much you spend!
So what are we waiting for?
You, the taxpayers of America burdened with an income tax that is costly, wasteful and sinking America into inevitable bankruptcy. All current forms of federal taxation would end! You would keep 100 percent of your paycheck. You control how you spend your paycheck. It's your money. You make the decisions as to how you want to spend your money.
The Fair Tax would create more jobs and give the USA a level playing field when selling overseas. United States Senator John Linder (R-Georgia) is sponsoring the "Fair Tax Act of 2005." If enacted by Congress, it would accomplish all of the above. Simple. Easy. And affordable.
It's the best way to downsize government without disrupting the economy.
To join the "Fair Tax" movement in America, just sign the "Economic Freedom & Fairness" Petition supporting forward-thinking solutions. Go to www.grassfire.net and liberate the working class of taxpayers. Grassfire is trying to give the working class the same kind of freedom America's founders gave to those who joined the American Revolution in 1776 with the "Declaration of Independence." We won the Revolutionary War, but have lost our country since the 16th Amendment (income tax) became "Law" in 1913.

The original poster of this article (Man50D) has already proven you wrong on this point. See post #52 of this thread.
Have you bothered to actually read the Fair Tax book?
These guys don't care about truth. They'll reduce a thread to minutia... arguing whether it's EXACTLY like the nrst or not.
Who cares? It's similar in that the state is funded via sales taxes to the exclusion of income taxes. That's what's important IMO.
And when they're unsuccessful at reducing the thread to minutia, or moving it to SBR, they can have "someone" delete the thread. I've even seen one anti nrst guy post obscene pic of sexual acts and connoting the picture portrays a pro nrst poster.... and this guy wasn't even suspended.
Makes ya wonder.....
BTW, I figured you wouldn't try floating that lie again for at least a couple of days.
Thank you. Does that include employee fica? employer matching fica? is business taxed? Is it border adjusted?
You got a link?
What an amazing thing for you to write.
Has the bill changed in the last couple of days?
Criminals, prostitutes and others engaged in a non-disclosed cash system don't pay any income taxes now.
But, all the above buy cars, clothes, homes, TV's, computers, etc. When they make these purchases under the Fair Tax, they are contributing to Federal revenue.
Now, they're in the system.
In addition, foreign tourist are paying.
And, if you decide that you don't want to pay taxes, don't buy anything.
Care to rephrase that?
How can you definitively state "X will happen" when your plan has neither been implemented, nor even tested anywhere on earth.
"The law of unintended consequences has not yet been repealed...."
"There is no prebate like the fairtax."
Thats right. Technically, the only reason the prebate concept is included in the Fair tax plan is to help sell it. That said, a prebate is not necessary to satisfy the definition of the Fair Tax. Therefore it is still based on the FT model.
"There is no tax on services like the fairtax."
Wrong. You already pay the taxes on the services that are already embedded by the businesses providing those services. The only difference is that those embedded taxes are mentioned explicitly as part of the price of the service.
"They certainly don't add a 30% tax like the fairtax."
The FT doesn't "add 30%". This suggest that you believe that 30% tax, in addition to the shelf price, will be levied by the FT. This is completely wrong.
"They don't tax the sale of new homes like the fairtax."
Under current tax law, every new home purchased in the US has roughly 25% of the price in embedded taxes that were paid by the businesses involved in the construction of the home, including both construction services and mayterials. The FT will not change the price of new homes in any appreciable way.
"A tax like this has never been done like this, and countries who have tried a high sales tax rate have never been successful."
Wrong again. The FT is in fact the model for the Florida and Texas state tax systems. Thats just a simple fact. Please name another country that has attempted, and failed, using the FT system as it is described in HR25.
Have you actually read the Fair Tax book?
Have you read the Fair Tax book? Ever?
The IRS has been using the "fake "inclusive" rate" for decades. While you may think its "fake", thats real money coming out of your check. If you don't believe it is please contact me by private mail and I will provide a mailing address where you can send me all of that fake money.
Linder? Boortz? Bozo The Clown?
What tax plan does "Mojave" support? If you find the Fair Tax such a sham, what do you propose we do to reform the current tax system?
It's one thing to criticize the FT and personally attack those who support it, but its quite another thing to offer a better solution.
Lets hear it.
I'll propose the same question to you as I did to 'Mojave'...
What tax plan does "xcamel" support? If you find the Fair Tax such a sham, what do you propose we do to reform the current tax system?
It's one thing to criticize the FT and personally attack those who support it, but its quite another thing to offer a better solution.
Lets hear it.
Now please show everyone the "personal attacks" I think they missed them.
C'mon - what you got? Anything? Namecall and avoid the website because you can find nothing wrong with it?I got one. It says a married couple with one child has an "annual tax-free spending allowance" of $23,000, but even with the $440.83 "prebate," this family can't but $23,000 worth of goods. The bill uses the inclusive rate to determine the Family Consumption Allowance when it should have used the exclusive rate. This family can only buy $21,783.27 worth of goods.
Groanup posts from just the past few weeks accusing people who question the FairTax of having personal ulterior motives (there are hundreds more over the past year, this is the #1 tactic for groanup- it's known as an ad hominem attack):
to RobFromGa: "This is someone beholden to the IRS. He could be a life insurance salesman, a tax shelter peddler, a CPA, a tax lawyer, or any of a myriad other leeches."
to RobFromGa: "You guys are absolutely, pitifully, ignorantly stuck on this prebate thing. Sorry, but you are not showing your true agenda here."
to lewislynn: "More fair tax opposition. Maybe a life insurance salesman?"
to lewislynn: "probably one of the best examples of someone who is beholden to the income tax up to their yacht sails"
to lucysmom: "I hope you have a nice life living off of the audits of your fellow Americans. Here's a question for you: what is lower than whale excrement at the bottom of the Marianna Trench?"
to lucysmom: "Kind of sad to spend all of this time on the internet just to protect your job. Don't blame you. But your job costs me my freedom and independence. So to hell with your job."
to xcamel: "since he hasn't ever truly engaged anyone on the merits of the argument I would say he is a life insurance salesman (they sell the tax deferral of the policies). Most of those guys know little or nothing about the products they sell they just know how to glad hand."
to Mojave: "Do you just sit by your computer all day and wait for fair tax threads so you can protect your job? I don't blame you. You should. Sorry. Life's a bitch."
There are hundreds more just like these from groanup if you go back over the last twelve months...
The only fair taxes are ten percent or less.
