Four books, (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), written at four different times by different men, some Jewish, some Gentile, all claim it was the custom. Each of these four books, even if you don't believe them to be divinely inspired, have had other details proven to be correct by outside historical sources. And I'm drinking Kool-Aid?

Until fairly recent archeological discoveries it was thought that Troy and even King Solomon had no basis in historical fact.

Very true,but I suspect that it doesn`t matter to someone who wants to make it up as they go along.

And to accuse someone else of "drinking the kool aid".

Parables are parables. And the Bible is not HISTORY OR BIOGRAPHY as you would like to believe.
