His dad isn't senile. He's been promoting the same views for year. I've been defensive of Mel's position regarding his dad in the past. But they're both public figures. His father contends he was a part of their business plan for the passion. Mel states he learned his faith from his father, and that his father has never lief to him. His father is a truely rabid antisemite. Anti-American as well.
Yates, don't like that decision, Mel, Hutton, all in the same basket. I wouldn't go that far. I think they all know what they're doing, and saying.

Always try to throw your opponent on the defensive, even if the attempt at a martyred gesture is as woefully crude as yours. As if this thread has nothing to do with show business...?

You think Mel Gibson's dad is a public figure? And if not senility, what else would explain his dad's opinion that the holocaust never happened?

BTW, the disputes over Drudge were also exceedingly boring.

Thanks, but it was a nasty thing to say, nonetheless. I still mean, though. :-)

You think Mel Gibson's dad is a public figure? And if not senility, what else would explain his dad's opinion that the holocaust never happened? His longstanding opinion. Are you suggesting only the senile are Holocaust deniers? If so, you're mistaken.
And yes, Hutton is a public figure of sorts, more prominent since his son became famous, which triggered his move from Australia to Texas. And yes, he contends he was a part of the movie making process. I've no way of knowing if that's true or not, I'd prefer to think not

Then why did you throw in the "SHOW BUSINESS CONNECTION" comment? You're a piece of work.

I just don't think his dad is a public figure. I'm not suggesting that sinility is the only cause for his dad to deny the holocaust happened, I'm asking what else would have caused his dad to believe something like that?

The liklihood of finding a link is low. However the Sioux considered drunks the equivalent of our "temporarily insane". A well know brave, I'm thinking a cousin of Sitting Bull but the name escapes me, was known for getting drunk, and killing his enemies, in a state for which he wasn't responsible for his actions. His ruse was well known, and his run of killings ended somewhere in the high teens, in the expected way. Something for drunk driver to consider.

I just think it's quite the coincidence that two FR gals (and I've seen the cuz discuss show business as an insider on several occasions) who happen to be related, get quoted together in a show biz magazine. Without any previous communications, of course. Wow! So I was wondering if there had been previous communication.
A regular Janice goes to the drugstore diner gets discovered story.

I saw nothing wrong with the movie...I enjoyed it...but I am not an expert on Biblical matters. Those who are wiser than I on these things had problems...BIG problems with it. I defended Mel to those people...that's why I took this so personally and so hard.

His dad says they moved to New York, LA, and Sydney, thus they couldn't have died. I don't know why his dad believes that.

Yup. We even took "judicial discretion" away from the courts in Virginia.
Gibson would have been in jail here and would not have been on the road, drunk, to get stopped and spew drunken BS.
I think sometimes folks living in CA too long get the idea that what they do there is "normal".
Clue: It is not.

Pretty sad when your own father aligns himself with the leader of Iran.
