Simply not so. Nothing in any of the Gospels in any way discredits Jews as such. It's the Pharacees that the Lord denounced for their hypocrisy, not the people in general.
I know all that. That's really not what I am driving at. People down though history reading the New Testament have come away hating Jews. The New Testament seems..."seems" to be against Jews. It does. There is something there that is easily misunderstood. It should not be that way. Somethings wrong there. It should have been written much clearer so the Jews would be protected, like The New Testament for Dummies. Because it is so unclear, the Jews have really suffered. I had funny feelings about it even as a little kid and and I did get it sorted out until way into my adulthood. Sorry that's the way I see it.
There is one episode in one of the Gospels where the Jewish people supposedly demand that a convicted murderer be freed (Barrabbas) instead of Jesus.
Somehow I don't believe that at all. Jesus was popular with the Jewish masses, but was hated by the Jewish and Roman power elite.
