No it isn't. The peppered moth studies was NEVER used to demonstrate speciation. Ever. They have always been used to show the efficacy of natural selection, nothing more.
What offends scientists (the vast majority (95%) of whom accept evolution) is the ignorant attacks on scientific methodology by those who have utter disrespect for how science is done. What makes them afraid? Scientists are afraid these same buffoons will be successful in gutting science education even further than it has been. It's bad enough that the postmodernist Left despises science; it's equally as destructive when it's the postmodernist Right doing the assaulting.
