For you to say the 1986 amnesty wasn't a failure not only strains credulity, it breaks yours. If the 1986 amnesty was a success, why do we have 12-20 million illegals in the US today? No the Amnesty worked we got 3 million good Americans many of whom vote GOP today. What didn't work was the enforcement part but that is Reagan's fault so yes he admitted it.

The enforcement part WAS PART OF THE 1986 AMNESTY!!!!
This is why there are so many of us who will not go along with ANY non-amnesty amnesty/guest worker/temporary worker or whatever the hell you call it until we have ENFORCEMENT first.
