She didn't sound nasty to me. And I've heard her be nasty.
Too bad, it was his show, I enjoyed the clip.
ok, babydill.
Glad somebody did. Might as well have been you. :)
If he did it to Michael Moore people would be crowing about how great it was, rather than how rude it was.
If he did it to Michael Moore it would be just as chickenshit.
I'll echo your sentiments above, DJ, and add that from what I heard on the link provided, Ann sounded a bit nervous or anxious. Maybe she was miffed about calling in late or not having the right number. Whatever the reason, Adam's use of the word 'babydoll' and acerbic attitude sounded more nasty than anything Ann said or did (or was given the opportunity to say or do).
LOL!
Yeah, but he would be hailed as a hero here....
If Rush, Hannity, or some other conservative talk radio personality did such a thing to michael moore (not that he would likely appear on any of those shows) THEN people here would be crowing about how great it was. Carolloa hanging up on michael moore would barely register, IF at all.
Maybe. But it sounds like it was a setup. And Michael Moore wouldn't call someone not known nationally.
I'm not a fan of cheap shots, no matter who uses them. I've been the victim of too many of them in my life.
Me too! We are kindred spirits!
But you know that if it were the other way around, folk here would be cheering!
:-)
I like Adam Carolla, but this was unprofessional and a cheap shot. Adam is counting on the liberals providing him with approving cover.
Are we supposed to think that Ann had ASKED to be on his show, rather than the other way around?
I presume he asked to have her on the show, and she agreed. When she didn't have the number, she could have just moved on, but instead she got a hold of her publicist to try to get the number.
It apparently took over an hour to get the number. I'm thinking if I wanted someone on my show and they were late calling I would have had a producer call the publicist to ask where Ann was, which would have fixed the number problem).
But Ann kept up, and called when she could, and I bet he put her on hold.
Then when he puts her on, he calls her names and makes fun. Meanwhile, she simply tells him why she was late, and lets him know she doesn't have a lot of time because (I'm guessing since he cut her off) she has a previous engagement.
If Adam didn't want her on anymore, he could have told the producer not to connect her through. It is clear he got her on the air for the sole purpose of hanging up on her because she called in late.
It's his show, so I don't really care, and I bet Ann doesn't care because I'm betting it was ADAM who asked her to be on the show -- I can't imagine why she would care to be on his show.
But I can't understand how anybody gets out of this an attack on Ann. For all we know, she was going to apologize but Adam didn't give her a chance. I bet she DID apologize when she was connected to the producer.
Maybe she was nasty off the air, prior to being introduced. But on the air (from just the clip I heard) she sounded flustered. Saying that she was tight on time did not sound nasty, considering the the way he had just talked to her.
I didn't listen to the whole thing. Cut it off when he said "Go F yourself". Ann wasn't rude. They were.
They go on to joke about her looks.
