Do you not agree that statements such as "slavery would exist today if the insurrectionist rebels had destroyed the union", are absurd and smack of propagandist and pandering conjecture?
the FACTS are that slavery was DYING due to improvements in agricultural mechanization & absent the WBTS, would have died out in 10-15 years at worst. (my GUESS is between 5-10 years.)
when the PROFIT was gone, slavery would have died because the slavers in the NORTH & SOUTH cared for NOTHING but $$$$$$$.
what you nor any other DAMNyankee/Scalawag cannot HONESTLY deny is that the NORTHERN slave-owners were INTENTIONALLY exempted from the so-called Emancipation Proclamation by lincoln, the TYRANT, as the north planned to free southern slaves & KEEP theirs, as long as there was MONEY "to be made in the flesh trade"! Yankee ELITISTS have ALWAYS been HYPOCRITES! (it is their NATURE, just as it is the nature of a snake to slither.)
btw, assuming that the war of aggression against the new southern republic was about "freeing the slaves", don't you think KILLING a MILLION Americans (especially since MANY THOUSANDS of the DEAD were actually SLAVES & "free persons of colour"!) to end slavery a decade early is a REALLY HIGH price to pay???
