For the sake of argument; if the congress were to pass a law saying all persons who believe in GOD were criminals and should be shot on sight. And the Supreme Court upheld it, could/should Kansas secede?

I'm willing to argue reasonable hypothesis but this scenario is so completely ridiculous that it isn't worthy of discussion. That would be like me asking if in 1863 Jefferson Davis announced that he had signed a treaty with men from Mars, would Virginia be justified in returning to the Union. Come back when you're serious.

I am serious. I admit my hypothesis is ridiculous but it goes to the point: Is their any reason that would legitamize a state seceding? I can imagine a day in America where, the government gives more rights to illegal aliens than citizens. Where the right to free speech and assemby must be within government approved (politically correct) boundries. Where all property is owned by the government (practically is now). Had you asked a German in 1924 what are the chances their country becoming what it became they would have said it was ridiculous to even think it.
I admit if America becomes as I stated it is ourselves at fault.

Virginia was always justified to return if they so chose. Even without President Davis' cheese sliding off his cracker.
