Annie was just trying to help. Rat poison can be good for you, unless you're a rat. (I'm not prepared to say with any certainty whether Mr. Justice Stevens is in danger on that point.)

Warfarin is scary stuff. It dilutes the blood all right, but an emergency, an insult to the head, or such can cause the capillaries to burst and it can kill.
But it does wonders in bringing rats to room temp.
