The minute the Pentagon released images of the Sept. 11 attack on its building, the message boards at ABCNEWS.com lit up with conspiracy theories.
Some blame it on an inside job by members of the Bush administration to benefit their business interests. Some say it was planned by neoconservatives to advance their worldview. Others don't know what happened but doubt the official story put forward by the government.
The world of conspiracy theories surrounding the Sept. 11 attacks is vast, and more than four years after the worst terrorist incident on U.S. soil, countless scenarios are put forth on the Internet, in academic forums and on talk radio each day. Some are of the "MIHOP" variety, which claim people in power made it happen on purpose, while others are of the "LIHOP" kind — they let it happen on purpose.
With Tuesday's release of video footage of American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the Pentagon building, an attack that killed 184 people on Sept. 11, questions rage again.
"It doesn't clarify anything — I don't see a plane in that image," said Michael Berger, spokesman for 911Truth.org. "In fact, I thought that was underwhelming."
Berger said 911Truth.org "would like to see various conspiracy theories laid to rest as well" and does not believe the government has addressed "inherent contradictions" in evidence and testimony surrounding the events of that day.
"We would like to know what happened," he said. "Four-and-a-half years later, we still don't have definitive proof that a plane hit that building."
Berger said the group "has never said one way or another what happened at the Pentagon," but it did support the Freedom of Information Act requests that led to the Pentagon releasing the footage.
But 911Truth.org does believe Sept. 11 has been used as the "justification for broader policies," both foreign and domestic, he said.
Barrie Zwicker, a Canadian investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker and author of the upcoming book "Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-Up of 9/11," said the video does not answer the question of how any aerial vehicle — "a 757 or a missile or a fighter equipped with a missile or a fighter alone or a blimp or a Cessna" — could make it to the "central headquarters of the greatest military power that ever existed."
"Even if it was a model airplane, for God's sake," Zwicker said.
He also questioned the timing of the video's release.
"For them to be releasing this video so late, why so late and why now?" he said.
They're all being held in the secret FEMA concentration/detention camps that are hidden all over America.
All you have to do to find *those* is look for the secret "direction markings" the backsides of all the highway and road signs.

i read the posts on this thread so far. no one says they looked at the video and saw the plane.
i looked at the video, and i looked again, and again. i could not see the plane.
i do not need a tin foil hat
i do not even harbor a little bit of doubt that the plane hit the building....or that it was flight 77
too many people have said they saw parts of the plane on the lawn (yes, i know, others have said that there were no pieces there)... etc...jet fuel, body parts...whatever...
so what's my point?
just that this video, or at least the versions i was able to access does not put this foolishness to rest.
i do not understand why this was held back for so long. it does not show anything that would put the conspiracy theorists to bed.
the nitwits will use this for more "proof" of their theories.

I saw it. It's clearly visible, on the edge of one of the shots, as an aluminum tube (you know what American's silver jets look like, right?).
But I did see it.

It's pretty obvious to me from the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L75Gga92WO8 that an airplane hit the pentagon. 1:26 seconds into the video you can see the front of the fuselage striking the ground on the right. The next frame shows the hit on the pentagon with a white trail from the right to the left(assumption since I don't think the pentagon shot anything out of itself) signalling the aircraft's path and obscuring the tree line behind.

Anderson Cooper show (CNN) played the videos frame by frame. One frame shows the portion of the plane from the nose to near the cockpit door, flying a few yards above the ground. It is just visible on the far right side of the frame. Another frame shows a larger portion of the plane but is more blurred and looks like a streak.
On 9/11 some reporters on the scene got some photos of small fragments of fusilage with AA markings.

At 1:24, start hitting the "pause" button alternately on and off.
About 1:26 you will see a very large shiny, pointy object enter from the right and then the next frame shows the fireball as it hits.
What fools some people is that anyone who has not actually ever stood right *beside* the Pentagon realize how -huge- it is.
That makes the plane look "too small" by comparison, possibly giving rise to the "missile theories".
We have parked beside of it during the Rolling Thunder motorcycle rides and each side of it is just humongous.
Tin foil hatters fail to realize one important thing about plane crashes. Planes are light and will disintegrate into small parts.
There are four parts that will not disintegrate as they are almost solid steel. Landing gear and jet engines. Each has a paper trail a mile long and lots of serial numbers stamped on the parts.
So, the plane was hijacked, flown to an unknown destination, the people disposed of, the plane disassembled, hauled on flatbed trucks to the Pentagon, dispersed throuout the area with no one seeing them, then a bomb is set off all in the space of 2 hours.
I also have no doubt that Flight 77 did indeed hit the Pentagon. However, the tape shows no clear undeniable plane image and this will reinforce the wacko's theory that the government blew up the Pentagon.
