Date-rape drug allegation in Duke case
Newsday (NY) ^ | April 24, 2006 | BY JENNIFER SMITH

The exotic dancer who accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party may have been slipped a date-rape drug, according to an interview with the second dancer in the May 1 issue of Newsweek that appeared on stands today.

Newsweek also reported that a defense attorney said some DNA evidence had been found under the accuser's fingernails, but that the first round of DNA testing - which did not incriminate any of the 46 players swabbed - was inconclusive about identity. Results from a second round of tests are expected this week.

The accuser, a 27-year-old black college student and mother, said she was raped and beaten by white students on March 13 after performing for them at a house party. Two lacrosse team members, Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., were charged Tuesday. Defense lawyers have maintained their clients' innocence, offering a detailed timeline and time-stamped photos from the party that they say throw the woman's story into doubt.

I just asked my husband (retired LE) if Crystal would have a memory of a rape if she had been given a date rape drug.

If there was evidence of a date rape drug, why was it not part of the indictments?

The indictments were sealed, weren't they? So we wouldn't know the answer yet I don't think.Correct me if I'm wrong.

Interesting. I suspect the team has been put together for a while. All these pro-prosecution news stories and columns don't just appear magically in a vacuum. I think they have a pr team that's been fluffing the story all along to give Nifong political cover... _______________________

That team needs help, because this week was not so good for the DA, and I think that a lot of pro prosecution media coverage comes from the media types desperately wanting and needing to believe the rich white jocks were racist and rapists. I will be surprised if the player's families give one cent to the two little hustling tricks. I think they'd rather give the money to a lawyer. I am sorry, but the email to the PR firm destroyed Kim and any credibility she had.
When you want soemone to SPIN something to your advantage, well...what's that say.
Kim is DUNZO!

No carpet samples were listed on the seized item list from the original search warrant.

Well, theres that pesky little fact of RS calling for a cab per his cell records and the cabbie having a log of the call.

Here's an informative brief on three date-rape drugs, and from a bunch who really know what they like:

 http://www.uhs.berkeley.edu/home/healthtopics/sexualassault/saalcohol.shtml

I didn't read absolutely everything at all the links, but all you have to do is do a google.com search for "ketamine" and you'll get the world. Then do an internal search through the results for "thirst" and you discover that GHB and Ketamine can sometimes, in some victims, cause excessive sudden thirst.

And that's the description we're getting out of the stories of events at the party.

Maybe the reason for no carpet samples other than incompetence is that this is part of Kim's new story that she now believes a rape occured and that they were given drinks...

Not that I've seen. I think this is a recent stupid Kim story to cover for the fact that she wasn't drugged by the boys. What sense would it make to drug only one stripper?

True the prosecution had a bad week. That may have been a miscalculation on the part of the $imeon team. They probably thought they could Mau Mau an early settlement out of the LAX team parents to make it all go away...

I must have missed something. Where in any report is excessive thirst mentioned?

Could no drugs/alcohol be part of the terms of Kim's probation?

Fox is really playing up the spilled drink story today...

What they fail to mention in any of the "Kim says" reports, is that stupid Kim has been totally discredited.

BINGO Notice Kim's story comes after people on the net and on TV were asking the same question.
Why drug one stripper?
This con artist is trying to change her story to fit with what she hears in the media.
Notice how Kim said she did not see Reade at the party, but noticed Colin, and she looked him dead in eyes.(something like that)
She is just trying to tailor her story to fit the evidence, and since she heard via the media that Reade has an alibi, she has to say she did not see him.

That's the event involving the "drinks" as discussed by Kim. It's on FOX news at this very moment.

This particular story is consistent with GBH and Ketamine.

Now, how did she come to believe she was raped? Well, Kim took her to the late night building guard for help. I presume she knew the guy. Let's assume he was of no help and advised Kim to take her to the Dope Crisis Center (as reported elsewhere on this same thread). So, she does that. And it would be there that someone might say, "Hey, this is a rape ~ look at these bruises ~ take her to the hospital to get tested", which Kim then did.

All of these cooborated events look quite rational in light of the lady having been doped with one of two different date rape drugs (as referenced above in my prior post).

I would hope the hospital did a blood test. One drug can be detected for 48 hours. The other for only 12 hours.

I'm not sure if you're right or wrong..See maggief's post #38. The link to court documents for the arrests. Nothing about being drugged, just kidnapped.

I don't know...but she did have a warrant out. She didn't want to be ID'd. And if she didn't have anything to drink at the party, then why did the Kroger security guard smell alcohol on her?

Let me elaborate ...

LAX player hands Kim and Crystal drinks. Kim accepts drink but doesn't drink it? Why didn't she just say no thanks?

She's hiding something, IMO.

When was it first reported that the LAX players gave the strippers drinks?
