The exotic dancer who accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party may have been slipped a date-rape drug, according to an interview with the second dancer in the May 1 issue of Newsweek that appeared on stands today.
Newsweek also reported that a defense attorney said some DNA evidence had been found under the accuser's fingernails, but that the first round of DNA testing - which did not incriminate any of the 46 players swabbed - was inconclusive about identity. Results from a second round of tests are expected this week.
The accuser, a 27-year-old black college student and mother, said she was raped and beaten by white students on March 13 after performing for them at a house party. Two lacrosse team members, Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., were charged Tuesday. Defense lawyers have maintained their clients' innocence, offering a detailed timeline and time-stamped photos from the party that they say throw the woman's story into doubt.

When a man or woman sees crap like this, it makes one not want to bring more pain into their lives. I think we can agree that rape is a horrific ordeal to live through. One's first instinct is to hide it, not wave it around in public.
No matter how prudent you are, it can happen.
The toxicology report has not been made public, so we don't know what Crystal ingested. GHB and all the weird goodies were after my time. I do have fond memories of purple barrel, though ;-)
When I was down in the home I grew up in, I used to occasionally hang with my best friend from HS. I was my mom's conservator, because she had advanced Alzheimer's, and I needed some time with the "grown ups". Had kids at home as well. I got plenty sick of having to take my drink into the bathroom, out the damn door when I wanted a smoke, etc. The last thing I needed was to get rolled, or worse. My friend was busy with the guys, and I needed to keep an eye on my own drink...and her too : ( We parted company over some of her antics. I already have 4 kids, and didn't need another one.
Let's see what the toxicology report comes up with, in regards to Miss Crystal.

sad to say this will be another scott peterson type media circus any past,present afflilations or relationships with lawyers, college friends, half brothers and sisters, navy buddies, ex johns,childhood friends; I hope and pray GLORIA ALFRED enters the frey, she has been approached by unknown sources and is willing and able to offer her services pro-bono.
