My point is as stated: why no violent objections to "political science" and "scientific polling" (forget Chomsky)

Because the argument is that ID is a hard science, on a par with physics, biology, and so on.

Nobody's making that sort of argument for the "social sciences" (at least, not with a straight face).

We can easily agree here in the boondocks of the mainstream culture, but not even the President of Harvard University (or of the United States) would dare say that "ethnic studies" is not a "hard science", but ID, hey, that's a fair game for the late night comedians. And that's my only point.
