I know you were referring specifically to Catholics in your post, but frankly that sentiment is seen frequently on the many FR threads...not only are Catholics told that they are not Christians, they are told they are cannibals(because they believe they are actually eating Christs flesh and drinking His blood)...they are also accused of all being idol worshippers, accomplices of child abusers, and other nonsense...but the Catholics get their licks in, when they ask non-Catholics how many poisonous snakes they have handled lately, or some other such nonsense...and of course, the Mormons, the Christian Scientists, and Jehovahs Witnesses are flat out told that they cannot be, will never be Christians...
It makes a person wonder how people who claim that they are Christians can actually act and talk in such a way...its really quite mind boggling...
So someone who supports evolution will get roundly lambasted by those who believe that their particular brand of 'Christianity', is the only true brand, and that those supporting evolution are to be grouped together with all those other false Christians(in their opinion), and together they will all be sent to Hell...and all too often, the one claiming that we will all go to Hell, does so with a smile, and actually does seem to enjoy knowing that folks wind up in Hell...they even tell us they will be laughing when they see us suffering in Hell, from their appointed place in Heaven...how sick is that!!
