Whether you like it or not, much of the commerce of this country does depend on these folks to do jobs that Americans won’t do for the prevailing wage.

It's a market wage, and saying Americans won't do work for a market wage is insulting to illegals and Americans. Our modern, technological economy depends primarily on innovation, investment, and knowledge, not low skilled, uneducated invaders from the South.

Companies like Tyson have no excuse for hiring illegals, except for the bottom line. They could do like my son's company does and go through an agency which vets applicants, gets them proper papers and a visa.

Of course, my son's company pays the taxes on those workers, too.

I am all for letting people in to work with proper identification and permission. Then we could settle this question: is it that there aren't enough workers, or is it that there aren't enough CHEAP workers? I believe the answer is the latter.

I vote for securing the border, huge fines for employers who violate the law, deportation when someone is discovered to be illegal, and a window of time to allow them to go home and reapply legally.
