If you stick to using the Bible as a source of moral instruction, I have no objetion... you thought the Bible is also an authority on natural history. It on this point that religious people are counterproductive. You actually harm your cause.

If you cannot trust the historical accuracy of the Bible, what basis do you have to trust the moral instruction? If you believe that you can choose what to believe and what not to believe in the bible, you might as well simply make up your own moral foundation. You could use any input, be it the "Bible", the "Quran", or "How to Win Friends and Influence People". What harms our case is compromise without basis of fact.

Biologists, paleoanthropologists, geologists, etc.

But they are not the opponents. The opponent is one who insists that natural forces have been shown definitively to explain the development of life from a single cell.

If you do not understand morality in your heart, what basis do you have for deciding that the Bible is worth your attention? This is not an intellectual thing.

Am I to assume that in the absence of promises of rewards, you would behave differently?

Folks who argue against evolution on the basis of probability are like the guy who has just lost a lot of money on a sporting event upset, and says, "Rewind the tape; I'll bet double or nothing they can't do it again."

We have the tape.

Let's assume for a moment one is reading the links, keeping track of what fossil is being discussed, noting what exactly is being said, etc. Even then, trusting Duane Gish [Jonathan Sarfati, Ken Ham, John Morris, "Dr." Dino, etc.] to give you cogent scientific arguments is bringing a sharpened popsicle stick to a gunfight.

"Please stop using childish insults, it just makes you look vulgar and crude."

I agree, I was wrong to do that. I apologize to all here, expecially the recipient of my cheap shot.

"Not until you apologize for your false accusations, or at the very least retract them."

I cannot apologize for making "false" accusations, because I believe what I said to be an accurate assesment. To apolgize would be disingenuos. However, I will apologize for having said those things, because it shows a lack of class (and Christian compassion) on my part. Sometimes it is best to keep your opinions to yourself - I should have done so in this case.

Now you will have to excuse me, I have a country to defend and soldiers to train. I was home sick today, but I am well enough to resume my duties.

If you do not understand morality in your heart, what basis do you have for deciding that the Bible is worth your attention? This is not an intellectual thing.

Because I do not fully understand morality in my heart, I must turn to a righteous and holy God to define morality. The heart of man cannot be trused since not all men who follow their heart subscribe to the same standard of morality.
A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.
- Ecclesiastes 10:2
I choose to use the Bible as that guide since it has shown itself to be proven as the written word of God. Fulfilled prophecy is the proof of its veracity.

Am I to assume that in the absence of promises of rewards, you would behave differently?

In my desire to do the will of God, I do now behave differently than I did before accepting the gift of Salvation. I did not consider a great deal of my behaviors as immoral until I came to know Christ. I have a much different perspective now. Not because of any "promises of rewards", but out of gratitude for the grace of a merciful God. Without His grace, I would not be merely lacking in rewards, but justly condemned to Hell.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
- John 3:18
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
- John 14:15

So you would agree with the Bible -- both the Old and New Testaments -- that slavery is OK? Your personal opinion is overruled?

Please feel free to show me where the bible proclaims slavery as a moral mandate.

In addition, the mix would have to be not 4 pairs but one pair (representing Noah and his wife), three male offspring of that pair and 3 semi-random females.

Ok, do THAT then!

Or even better; just start with TWO!

Report back to me as to whether that LINE of rabbits will die out or not....

The Bible doesn't mandate slave ownership, any more than it mandates eating meat. But it does say it's OK. If you happen to be a slave, it instructs you to accept your position and obey your master.

If you happen to be a slave owner you have to be careful about beating your property to death, but all is forgiven if the slave lives at least 24 hours after the beating.

He said "Elk" and an elk appeared. He said "Bear" and a bear appeared. This is how it was until all animals were created.

Dang!!!

This sure sounds familar....

Which ones would that be???

NIV John 6:24-29
 24.  Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.
 25.  When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"
 26.  Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
 27.  Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
 28.  Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
 29.  Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
