Glad to hear the remarks of a reasoned person.

Heinz has a plant in a city about 40 miles south of us. They employ hundreds of people and run 24/7. Just as important, probably hundreds of thousands of farmers produce the crops that go into their final product.

Well maybe H.J. Heinz will sell it to another company that can operate it more profitably. Turnabout is fair play. John Heinz used his family name, fame, and fortune to get elected to the US House of Representatives in 1971, 1972, and 1974 and the US Senate in 1976, 1982, and 1988. His wife Teresa traded heavily on her late husband's name campaigning against Rick Santorum in 1994 in the election to fill Senator Heinz' former senate seat. He used his association with H. J. Heinz to testify against proposed Reagan administration rules to allow ketchup to be counted as a vegetable in school lunch programs, and he spoke as an expert on ketchup.

And yesterday, even a Republican, Sen. John Heinz of Pennsylvania, whose family owns the H.J. Heinz Co., said, " Ketchup is a condiment. This is one of the most ridiculous regulations I ever heard of, and I suppose I need not add that I know something about ketchup and relish--or did at one time."

I contributed to the decline of your area's employer when I stopped buying their product.
