In case the bigwigs have forgotten, American companies need contracts and Americans need jobs!
I read that not one American company put in an offer to buy from the British.
American companies already run these ports, and will still run the ports. They are run by americans working in america (how would it be different).
All that changes here is that the money which now goes to the O&P foreign company will now continue up one more level to the DP World company. That company is owned by the UAE government, which will get money I suppose directly, as opposed to what happens in this country where the government doesn't OWN corporations but still gets 33% of their profits in the form of taxes. I wonder if the UAE will get that much of the money from the DP World company.
Any american company that wants to outbid the UAE is more than welcome.
