What base? These are people who have been beating up on him for longer than 7 years.
Don't think so. The Republicans one 02, 04, and 06 because of an active conservative base. A significant percentage of the base (yes - the ones who supported bush) are dumbfounded at his decisions of late. With these types of decisions being made, you really need to start wondering about his past decisions as well!
