Besides, where were Catholics IN THE STATES marching against the IRA? That's what you want, isn't it? American Muslims doing penance for what Saudi Muslims did?

A. The last time I checked, the Provos were a quasi-Marxist, single-minded terrorist organization that didn't draw inspiration from the Pope. In fact, one of the moments during "the troubles" that stands out in my mind is former Pope John Paul II imploring the participants in that particular conflict to cease inter-communal, sectarian violence.

B. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the IRA-even the most radical, brutal offshoots such as the INLA or Real IRA-never plunged two fully-fueled commercial jets into skyscrapers packed with innocent civilians, or attempted to assassinate half of Congress, and use airliners to destroy Capitol Hill.

D.If I thought that there was a significant portion of American Catholics that wanted to discard the Constitution, and impose a theocracy upon their fellow citizens, and were willing to exterminate a good portion of the American public in order to fulfill those goals, then I would despise them just as fervently as I do Mohammedans, in spite of the fact that I was baptized into the Church.
