It's not like the US is going to pillage their cities and rape their women. If a nation is going to stop being our ally because we don't want them to own our ports then were they really our ally in the first place?
Think about it, if an US company wanted to own ports in the UAE and the people of the UAE pushed back against it, would we as Americans go marching in the streets? No, we'd for the most part say that it was sound domestic policy.
