I am still looking at this issue. I heard a lot about it on the radio while driving for 7.5 hours today. One thing is for sure: I won't let Jimmy Carter control my opinion on the issue. Whether he is for or against this contract makes no difference to me. Carter also speaks English, but doesn't mean we should take up another language.
It sounded like Tony Snow did a pretty good analysis of this issue today, and I am inclined to agree with it, so far. There appear to be a limited number of companies who do this work, all of which are outside of the US. Halliburton doesn't do this kind of work. None of the other companies (I think there were 3 of them) sounded any better. Snow also noted that the Coast Guard controls security at the ports, and these companies have no control at all on it.
